The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has resumed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, before a new judge, Justice James Omotosho.
Reports say there is also a change of defence counsel, Kanu Agabi, who now heads the defence team for Kanu, while the prosecution retained Adegboyega Awomolo.
At the hearing this Friday, Kanu’s counsel, Agabi, started by apologizing on behalf of his client, to the former judge in charge of the case, Justice Binta Nyako, the prosecution team, and his lawyers for Kanu’s verbal attacks
Kanu had requested the recusal of Justice Binta Nyako, the judge presiding over the seven-count terrorism charge brought against him by the Federal Government.
