Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “alive, strong, and resilient,” dismissing media speculations about the party’s decline.

Jonathan said this on Tuesday, while receiving members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), at his private office in Abuja.

He says that the PDP is more than a political platform, but a national institution that remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s democracy while highlighting the party’s historical resilience and institutional strength.

He further urged the party leadership to prioritize national interest and institutional development over personal considerations, emphasizing that strong political parties are essential for democratic stability.
