The Imo State Government has issued a 14-day ultimatum to individuals who illegally erected structures under a reserved 333KVA national grid power line in parts of Owerri North Local Government Area.
The notice was published by the Senior Special Assistant to the Imo Governor on Creative and Electronic Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, jointly signed by Chinasa Nwaneri of the Office of the Governor on Monitoring and Compliance, and the General Manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority, Franklin Newodo.
The directive affects buildings put up at Ishiuzo Egbu/Umuawaka, Awaka, along the transmission corridor from the Alaoji Transmission Station to the Egbu Transmission Station, Owerri.
In a public announcement issued by the Owerri Capital Development Authority, the state government warned that failure to comply would result in demolition, with the cost borne by the owners of the affected structures.
