The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed the redeployment of the Commissioners of Police for Rivers State, Delta state and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The spokesman of the Police force, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced this this Thursday, saying the redeployment is to ensure effective policing in the affected states.
The Rivers State commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu has been redeployed to the FCT, the Delta state commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi has been redeployed to Rivers state, while the FCT Commissioner of Police, Peter Opara has been redeployed to Delta state.
Adejobi also said the IGP has also deployed four CPs as Commissioners of Police for Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa-Ibom State Commands, which includes the posting of CP Danladi Nda to Abia State Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale to Lagos State Command, CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya, FDC to Ebonyi State Command and CP Festus Eribo to Akwa-Ibom State Command.
The IGP urged the CPs to adopt innovations in mitigating security challenges and also ensure maximum utilization of human resources available.
