Hurricane Milton Makes Landfall in Florida, Kills Several Persons

The National Hurricane Center in the US says Hurricane Milton has made landfall near Siesta Key in Florida, as a category 3 storm with 120 mph sustained winds and “life-threatening” storm surge and flooding.

 

Weather scientists in the US say although the storm but has since weakened to a category two, it still remains extremely dangerous as several deaths have been confirmed at a leisure resort in St Lucie County on the state’s east coast

 

Also, more than 2m homes and businesses are now without power across Florida while some other millions of citizens already fled Florida throughout Wednesday.

 

Milton is the fifth hurricane to make landfall in the US this year, which is more than from 2021 to 2023 combined.
