Fubara, Cole, Withdraw from Rivers APC Gov Primaries

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state.

Fubara made this known on Wednesday, saying he has taken the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from the APC governorship primaries and would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.

Similarly, a former APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, has withdrawn from the party’s governorship primary election ahead of Thursday’s exercise.

Cole also announced his withdrawal on Wednesday, saying the decision was taken after a meeting convened by the national leadership of the party, where they discussed the need to maintain unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
