The Management of FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited, FPEDL, has explained the reason for the poor power supply in Anambra State, saying that it is because of a drop in national power generation, and that it is not peculiar to Anambra State.
The company’s head of communications, Izunna Okafor, made the clarification to the press on Wednesday, while pleading with the people of Anambra for more understanding.
He said the drop in the national power generation also affected Anambra’s allocation which has now dropped by more than 50%, thereby necessitating load management.
He also clarified that FirstPower operates only in the Distribution segment of the electricity supply chain, meaning that the company does not generate electricity and does not control the volume of electricity transmitted/sent to the state.
