The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has called for renewed commitment to ending the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, AIDS, by 2030.

She made the call this Monday via her X handle to mark World AIDS Day 2025. She said the annual commemoration serves as a reminder to revamp efforts toward ending HIV/AIDS by 2030.

She says although the country has made progress in HIV prevention, treatment and care over the years, the efforts must be sustained to achieve an AIDS-free nation

She also encouraged young people to take responsibility for their health by knowing their HIV status and seeking treatment if they test positive.

She further called on communities to show compassion and support and say no to stigmatisation.
