A fire outbreak has razed about 12 shops in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.
The General Manager of the Oyo state fire service, Yemi Akinyinka, told newsmen this Friday that the fire broke out on Thursday night at Mayegun Cement Store Market, Araromi, Agodi-Gate in Ibadan.
Akinyinka says they received the distressed call at exactly 11:02 pm, and officials were deployed to the scene of the fire incident, where they restricted the fire from spreading to other nearby shops and eventually extinguished it.
Akinyinka says the fire service saved property worth billions of naira in the market. They returned to the fire station by 3:18am this Friday, and have been on standby since.
