A fire outbreak has burnt down parts of Liberia’s parliament building after tense protests erupted following months of political deadlock.
Liberian Authorities say the fire broke out on Wednesday but was brought under control by the fire department also saying an investigation has been launched to establish the cause.
Reports say there was a violent protest in Liberia on Tuesday which led to a clash between police and citizens and attracted condemnation from regional bloc ECOWAS and the US embassy
The protesters were protesting against a controversial move to remove Liberian house speaker Jonathan Koffa.
