FIFA postpones DR Congo Federation Elections to May
The International Federation of Association Football, FIFA, has extended the mandate of the Normalisation Committee overseeing the Congolese Football Association until April 15, 2026, as part of efforts to complete long-delayed reforms and organise credible elections for the Congolese football governing body.

FIFA also confirmed that the federation’s elections, originally scheduled for March 2026, have now been postponed to May 2026 due to administrative and financial constraints affecting the electoral process.

Reports say that the delay is linked to  several operational challenges, including unresolved financial issues involving the federation’s former equipment supplier and the absence of fully functional bank accounts needed to fund the election process.
