Festus Keyamo Announces FG Relief Measures to Avert Airfare Hike
In response to the threat by airline operators in the country to increase airfares or suspend flight operations due to the increase in the price of aviation fuel, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced major Federal Government interventions aimed at reducing the financial pressure on airlines.

Keyamo announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved a generous discount on certain outstanding fees owed to the Federal Government by airline operators.

He also announced that in the coming days, the President will constitute a special committee to review and reduce multiple taxes and levies currently embedded in airfares.

He made these announcements on Wednesday after meeting with a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, airline operators, and oil marketers, among other stakeholders.
