A 40-year-old farmer in Ogun state, Abdullahi Rasaki, has been killed by a palm tree which fell on him at Bogije village, in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
The spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said this this Monday, explaining that the incident was reported to the police at about 9:30 pm on Sunday.
Odutola says Rasaki had gone to cut palm trees when one of the trees accidentally fell on him.
Odutola says the neighbours in the vicinity rushed to his aid, where they removed the tree and immediately took him to General Hospital, Sagamu, for treatment, but he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor upon arrival at the hospital.
Odutola further says the case is currently under investigation by the Divisional Crime Branch of the police to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
