The management of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has ordered the immediate closure of academic activities in the institution following the recent protests in the school.
The institution’s registrar, Kasimu Salihu, explained this Tuesday that the protests came after some unknown persons invaded the male students’ hostel, making away with their belongings and injuring about two students.
He said the students came out of the polytechnic main gate to express their frustration and the members of the schools’ management were there to address the students, however some hoodlums hijacked the peaceful protests.
He said as a result the management ordered the immediate closure of academic activities, giving students two hours to vacate the polytechnic campus, until further notice.
