Human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, has arrived the Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, for his trial on criminal defamation instituted against him by Afe Babalola.
Farotimi was brought to the court this Tuesday morning from the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre by its officials where he had been remanded last week following his arraignment.
He is facing criminal defamation charges in Court as a result of the allegations in his book titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System” that accused Babalola of corrupting judges of the Supreme Court.
Babalola instituted a legal action against Farotimi, saying some aspects of the book is defamatory.
