EU Report Says Continent Experienced Worst Flooding in 2024

The European Union, EU has released a report saying the European continent experienced its most extensive flooding in over a decade in 2024.

 

The EU’s climate change monitor report released this Tuesday, says the storms and floods that occurred in Europe in 2024 killed more than 300 people, affected 413,000 others people and inflicted at least 18 billion euros in economic damage.

 

The Copernicus Climate Change Service also says almost one-third of its rivers swelled to bursting point, vast areas of the continent were inundated during the year.

 

It further said these disasters took place during the hottest year around the world, and underscore the threat that flooding poses for Europe.
