Enugu Assures Readiness To Host 23rd National Sports Festival

The Enugu State Government has said it is ready to host the 23rd edition of the National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in 2026.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ekweremadu said this on Friday, following the conclusion of the Ogun 2024 games where team Delta emerged the overall winners, finishing with 109 gold, 75 silver, and 87 bronze medals while Bayelsa State came in second, and hosts, Ogun state finished third.

Ekweremadu says they are committed to building on the success of the just concluded Ogun 2024 Games in terms of organization, facilities, among others, while ensuring a seamless experience for athletes and officials.

Recall that Enugu State beat Lagos to the hosting right of the 2026 National Sports Festival, which would be the second to be staged in the South-East after the Imo1998 edition in Owerri, Imo state.
