The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, has said about 4,145 security personnel will be involved in the Local Government polls scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 21.
The Chairman of ENSIEC, Christian Ngwu, said this on Wednesday in Enugu, saying that at least one security personnel would be provided at each of the 4,145 polling units in the 17 council areas of the state.
He says they are in close synergy with the Nigeria Police, to get the required numbers and get the posting finalized.
The ENSIEC Chairman also assured that the commission had received and kept in safe custody all the non-sensitive materials for the council polls.
Recall that the Local Government polls are for the election of candidates into 17 chairmanship and 260 ward councillorship positions in Enugu State.
