Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna State, under tight security for his arraignment over alleged corruption-related offences.
He was brought to the court this Tuesday in a vehicle and remained inside for over 30 minutes before being escorted into the courtroom by security operatives.
Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and Department of State Services, DSS, formed a security cordon around him, while journalists were denied access to the courtroom.
Recall that security presence was earlier intensified around the court premises with multiple agencies deployed, as vehicular movement was restricted, leading to traffic disruptions in the area.
The anti-corruption agency says El-Rufai is facing charges including alleged conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.
