A 5.8 magnitude earthquake has killed one teenager and injured dozens of people in Turkey.
Turkey’s interior minister, Ali Yerlikaya, said this on X, saying the earthquake struck the Marmaris area of southwestern Turkey early this Tuesday.
Yerlikaya says the teenager, a 14-year-old girl died following a panic attack and about 70 persons were injured.
According to the national quake protection authority chief Efthymios Lekkas and the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, the earthquake was reportedly also felt in Greece and as far away as Egypt.
