The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa has strongly condemned the killing of 16 hunters in Edo State, as he vowed that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The CDS said this through the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, insisting that the tragic incident could have been prevented if the appropriate authorities had been notified to verify the identities of the victims.
Recall that the hunters who were mistaken for kidnappers because of their dane guns, were set ablaze by a mob in Uromi, Edo State, last Thursday while travelling to Kano from Rivers State to celebrate Eid with their families.
About 14 suspects have been arrested by the police, while Edo Governor, Monday Okpehbolo has suspended the Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, Friday Ibadin.
