Benue Senator Demands Govt Action Over killings in the state

The Senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, Titus Zam, has condemned the persistent attacks and killings of people by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Gwer-West Local Government Area of that state.

Zam who said this to newsmen this Tuesday called on President Bola Tinubu and Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia to intervene urgently to end the killings.

He says the open grazing prohibition and ranching establishment bill he presented to the Senate are key solutions to ending these killings.

He says despite intense efforts to make it stop, the killings persist, saying security agencies should intensify their efforts to protect residents, especially vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly.

He extended his condolences to the affected communities and urged Tinubu and Alia to address the insecurity plaguing Benue.
