The Peoples’ Democratic Party in Benue State has reacted to former Governor Gabriel Suswam’s recent resignation letter, saying he left the party a long time ago.
The Publicity Secretary for the Benue PDP, Tim Nyor, said this on Wednesday saying Suswam had already distanced himself from the party and repeatedly aligned himself with the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
He said Suswam’s alignment to the ADC was neither subtle nor speculative as he attended multiple meetings of the coalition, participated in its public unveiling in Benue State, and even donated personal property for use as its secretariat, after evicting the PDP from the same premises.
He said in light of these he was expelled from the PDP, and as such one cannot resign from a party of which he is no longer a member.
