Atiku Slams Govt Over Kano Athletes's Crash, Niger Flood Deaths

A Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the federal and state governments for failure to address recurring safety and disaster management issues.

Atiku expressed his sorrow following the road accident that claimed the lives of 21 Kano State athletes; and the devastating floods in Niger State that killed over 150 people.

He emphasized the need for improved road safety measures and proactive flood management strategies, especially as Nigeria enters the peak of the rainy season.

He also addressed the rising death toll from flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which has now surpassed 100, stressing the need for immediate action to avert further disasters in flood-prone areas.
