ASPHCDA set to begin immunization for Children in 9 Anambra LGAs

The Anambra state primary healthcare development agency, ASPHCDA, and the United nations children’s fund, UNICEF, are set to begin a routine immunization for children between the ages of 0-59 months, who have never been immunized, and those who have not completed their routine immunization.


The ASPHCDA director of disease control and immunisation, Placid Nnamdi, said this to newsmen at a local government stakeholders meeting which took place at the NMA Hall of the Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching hospital, Amaku Awka.


Nnamdi says the campaign will be carried out in 9 local governments, including Anyamelum, Ihiala, Aguata, Anaocha, Nnewi south, Idemili north and south as well as Orumba north and south, urging parents and guardians to ensure that their wards are fully immunized.


He also says the campaign will be carried out in 3 rounds, with the first round scheduled for 6 days in December, beginning on Friday December 13th, while the second and third rounds will take place in January and February 2025 respectively..
