The troops of 12 Brigade say they have intercepted a vehicle conveying a large quantity of cannabis in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Acting Assistant Director of the Army Public Relations, 12 Brigade, Hassan Abdullahi, informed newsmen of the interception this Tuesday, saying it is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug-trafficking networks linked to banditry and other criminal activities across the state.
He said in the operation, which took place on Monday; that troops on patrol intercepted a red Toyota Camry transporting illegal substances from Ekiti State to Borno State.
He said a total of 306 parcels of Cannabis Sativa weighing 276 kilograms were recovered and both the driver and the seized items have been handed over to the Kogi Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
