The All Progressives’ Congress, APC, has waived the screening requirements for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
APC spokesman Felix Morka said the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, reached the decision during its 188th meeting, held on Wednesday.
According to the NWC, President Tinubu has received overwhelming endorsement and a vote of confidence from critical stakeholders of the party, at the APC National Summit of 2025 and at other party events.
They said requiring President Tinubu’s physical appearance before a screening committee at this time would be redundant and unnecessary seeing as he is the incumbent president and leader of the party, and was duly screened and cleared in 2022 ahead of the presidential primaries in that year.
