The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has said that the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, was intentionally absent at the party’s National Executive Council meeting.
Recall that on Wednesday, leaders of APC converged at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja for its first NEC meeting since the assumption of President Bola Tinubu in office in 2023.
The meeting was reportedly well attended by all members of the National Working Committee as well as other members of the various party organs except for members like former President Muhammadu Buhari; ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.
Also recall that El-Rufai recently granted an interview where he said the APC lacks internal democracy and also said he hadn’t gotten his invitation to the NEC meeting.
However, at a television interview on Wednesday night, Morka said the party sent notice of its NEC meeting to all members of the party including El-Rufai and that he had the right to attend the meeting like any other NEC member but failed to do so.
