A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and a former member of the House of Representatives, Ifeanyi Ibezi, has dumped the party and declared support for the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
Ibezi announced his defection during a meeting with his political associates at his country home in Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area, on Sunday, saying the outcome of the APC governorship primary election, is his reason from leaving the party.
Ibezi described the APC governorship primaries as a charade, saying the APC failed to field a credible and electable candidate, hence his defection and support for Soludo’s re-election.
The APC primaries produced Prince Ukachukwu as the party’s flagbearer but prior to that, three governorship aspirants of the APC had stepped down from the race as they complained about irregularities in the process.
