The Anambra state Police command has recovered an abandoned fabricated AK-47 rifle and one magazine without ammunition in an apartment at Umuike Village, Awka in the Awka Local Government Area of the state.
The commands spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said this to newsmen this Friday.
Ikenga says the arms were recovered by Police Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu following a tip off.
He also says the arms were abandoned by the suspect who fled through the back door on sighting the operatives and that the suspect had been on the run since the incident.
He however says that efforts were ongoing to apprehend and bring him to justice.
