The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has condemned the Gunmen attack on a security checkpoint in Isuofia, in the Aguata Local Government Area of the State.
Orutugu said this on Friday, saying that the attack which took place on Thursday night was repelled by members of the Anambra Joint Security Team and two of the armed hoodlums were killed in the process.
He however says that one policeman was injured in the attack and the remaining hoodlums abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, also says that calm has been restored in the area, with additional armed operatives deployed to comb nearby bushes in search of the fleeing suspects.
