The Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully recovered a suspected stolen vehicle at its National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Desk Office in Nteje.
The Sector Public Education Officer, Margaret Onabe, says the vehicle was tracked down after an agent of the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) sent vehicle information for verification, revealing that the vehicle had been missing for three years.
She says the vehicle was recovered through the collaborative efforts of the FRSC and other security agencies in the state, also attributing the recovery to the effectiveness of the NVIS database, which enables the FRSC to track and identify stolen vehicles.
The Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander, called on vehicle owners to upload their number plates to the NVIS portal for ease of tracking and identification.
