Still from Osun politics and in reaction to Bamiji’s claim, a chieftain of the APC in Osun State, Jamiu Olawumi, saying the 2 PDP senators who defected to the APC deliberately abandoned the PDP.
He said the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke has lost a high degree of integrity in public governance, hence the deflection of the 2 senators who he says did not want to be part of the mess.
He said these in a television interview this Thursday, also alleging that the governor Adeleke had lobbied to join the APC from the PDP, but was rejected by the leadership of the party.
Olawumi said the reasons for APC’s refusal was that civil servants who were being made second-class citizens against their counterparts from Ede pleaded that Governor Adeleke should not be allowed to join the APC.
He also said that the governor can not be the leader of the APC in Osun if he defects, because the leader of the party in Osun currently is Bisi Akande.
