The Abia Council of Traditional Prime Ministers has promised to mobilise support for the re-election of the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state.
The group also passed a vote of confidence in the governor and adopted him as its sole governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.
The pronouncement was made on Tuesday by the President of the Council, Uche Akwukwaegbu, at the end of its quarterly meeting in Umuahia.
He stated that the decision was taken based on the governor’s unmatched performance in the state within less than four years in office, noting that Otti had transformed both the Umuahia metropolis and Aba, making them some of the smart cities in Nigeria.
