Abia Engages Host Communities On Proposed Airport

Abia State Government has kicked off community engagements to communicate the government’s intentions to the people of the Nsulu clan in the Isialangwa North Local Government Area on the proposed citing of Abia airport in their community.

The Chief of Staff to the governor of that state, Calab Ajagba, said this while speaking to the traditional rulers and other representatives of the various host communities.

Ajagba says that the government had earlier engaged the village heads of the various communities and secured their consent for the project.

He says there is no opposition to the project among the leaders, but the meeting was to prepare them to receive the government’s delegation that would be visiting the community starting from this Tuesday.

Ajagba says the government is cutting traces in the site and, when completed, they would identify the real owners of the areas chosen and pay compensation to them before work commences.
