Sports Minister, SAFA Clash Over $1.75 Million VAR Funding

South African Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has accused the South African Football Association (SAFA) of failing to implement Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology despite the government releasing $1.75 million for the project.

mckenzie has given SAFA 23 days to take action and ensure the project moves forward.

He also warned that he is prepared to report the matter to FIFA if the delay persists.

The development has raised concerns over the management of funds earmarked for improving football infrastructure and officiating standards in South Africa.
