44 Players Fail NLO’s Health Checks, Will Miss 2025 Season

Nationwide League One (NLO) has revealed that 44 players will miss the 2025 season due to health issues.

NLO announced this on its official X handle this Tuesday, saying that its Medical Consultant, Dr Ayo confirmed that the players are unfit due to underlying medical conditions, including systemic hypertension.

NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo says comprehensive pre-season medical checks are standard, as he emphasized the necessity of rigorous health assessments to prevent potential sudden deaths among players.

The affected players come from 31 teams registered for the 2025 season, with Offa Football Club having the highest number at six players.
