The new governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has urged the gubernatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Benard Odoh, to withdraw all litigations against him (Nwifuru) for the interest and unity of the state.

Nwifuru was sworn in alongside his deputy governor, Princess Patricia Obila, by the Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Elvis Ngene, at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, on Monday, May 29, 2023.

He called on the opponents and others who had dragged him to court to drop their ligations and support his administration, with the purpose of uniting and developing the state.

According to him: “I call on my opponents who contested with me in the 2023 general election to join us in this great journey to savour the benefits available for them in this state.

“They should make themselves available and offer their beautiful ideas for the development of our state. I publicly plead with them to withdraw their petitions against me. As that will make us more unified and solidified.
