Following the rising insecurity in the country, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, says the military is implementing new strategies that will bring an end to the scourge in Nigeria.

He also says the military is working on upgrading the intelligence management procedures of the defence and security sector to strengthen the overall security architecture in the country.

Irabor stated these while delivering a lecture at the National Defence College on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the appraisal of the current security architecture reveals concerns with respect to limited divergent approaches to tackling the emerging threats, ineffective media management as well as regional security dynamics.

He urged the Nigerian media to emulate the German Press Code as its guiding principle in reportage.
