Ebonyi State Government has pleaded for financial intervention from the Federal Government to tackle the landslide which occurred at the retaining wall of the Ogwuma section of the road from the Iyere flyover in Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Umahi blamed the cause of the landslide on the activities of those inhabiting the retaining wall, and announced plans to clear the road within seven days to enable the Government take action.

He says all those inhabiting the retaining wall will have to be evacuated for the retaining wall to be reconstructed.

Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, reports that Umahi says the financial assistance from the Federal Government will enable his administration swing into action to save the road users from hardship.
