President Bola Tinubu has directed various government agencies, including law enforcement, maritime safety and transportation safety authorities, to collaborate closely in identifying the root causes of the recent boat mishaps that have occured in the country.
He said this while extending his condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the recent boat accidents in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State and Gurin village, in Fufore LGA of Adamawa State.
Recall that about 30 persons, primarily women and children, have been confirmed dead, in a boat accident that occured on September 10, 2023, in Mokwa local government area of Niger state.
Also, more than 15 persons have been confirmed dead in the Adamawa boat accident that happened on September 9.
