The Government of Imo State has debunked the rumored resignation of the Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Charles Orie.
The Imo state Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba told newsmen this Tuesday that the purported resignation of Orie making the rounds on social media is false and misleading.
Emelumba told citizens of Imo State to disregard the rumor, saying Orie’s tenure as chairman of the Commission had long expired, and the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma did not renew it.
He says Orie could not have resigned from a non-existent position since his tenure was not renewed in the first place.
Emelumba says the State Government has no issue with Orie, but has found it necessary to set the records straight to avoid misleading members of the public.
