Anambra Special Duty Commissioner Asks Women To Push for Social Reforms in August Meetings

Anambra State Commissioner for Special Duties, Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche has charged women to use this year’s August meeting to initiate plans and programmes towards societal reforms.

Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche made this known to newsmen, saying the level of moral decadence and social vices in the society is worrisome. She says women can lead the charge for social and value reorientation if they make it a priority during this August meeting.

She says they should also use the occasion to raise awareness on the importance of protecting child right and the Prohibition of Violence Against Persons.

Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche says the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo had called on women to also use the August meeting to empower their fellow women with skills to become self-reliant, saying that this will help them support their families especially in this time of economic downturn.
