Bode George Decries Shady Dealings in Nigeria’s Oil Sector

The Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has called on the Federal Government to be honest and open to Nigerians about the dealings in Nigeria’s oil sector.

George made this known to newsmen this Friday, saying the mismanagement of Nigeria’s crude oil has led to immense losses for the country, calling on the President Bola Tinubu, who is also the minister of petroleum to manage the sector better.

He says the federal government’s decision to continue pumping money into refurbishing Nigerian refineries that were built in the sixties is a mistake, saying the technology of those refineries are outdated.

George decried the fact that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC’s stake in the Dangote refinery reduced from 20% to 7% due to its failure to meet its investment requirement. He also called on the Federal government to tell Nigerians the truth about fuel subsidy payment, saying it is the fundamental rights of Nigerians to know.
