Security Tightened Hours To Paris Olympics

Security tightened hours to Paris Olympics

Ahead of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony set to hold later this Friday, organizers say there will be 45,000 police officers and gendarmes, including 650 specialist officers.

They also say a new army battalion will also secure a military zone along the Seine, where the 10,000 athletes will board their barges.

About 1,800 specialist police officers from around the world, including from the U.S., have arrived in France for the Games.

Organizers say they are hoping that arson attacks that paralyzed large parts of France’s high-speed rail network won’t have a big impact on the opening ceremony.
