Tinubu, Nigerians mourn Onyeka Onwenu

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolence to the family of late singer, songwriter, actor, journalist, activist, and politician, Onyeka Onwenu.

 

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, this Wednesday, said Onyeka Onwenu was a multi-talented artist whose career of over four decades was devoted to her craft that brought joy and laughter to many.

 

He has also extended his condolences to the entertainment industry, the Imo State Government, and her numerous fans and also prayed for the repose of the soul.

 

Also sending their condolence messages include, legendary Fuji musician, Adewale Ayuba, Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charley boy, Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Femi Kuti, and many others.

 

72 years old Onwenu died on Tuesday night at Reddington Hospital in Lagos after collapsing at the birthday party of the CEO of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Stella Okoli, where she had just performed.
