The leadership of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has demanded the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu from detention as well as a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction.
The Leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu told newsmen this, saying only the release of the IPOB leader will douse tension in the zone as well as restore a peaceful atmosphere to the entire country.
Madu said although MASSOB is not against the visit of President Buhari, who is billed to visit Ebonyi State on a two-day working visit, from May 5 to May 6, 2022, the group is making these two major demands as part of their contribution to peace for the nation.
Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, reports that Madu asked President Buhari to facilitate and ensure that one of the many southeast presidential aspirants succeeds him in 2023 to help the country diffuse many bottled anger which has fueled agitations.
