Nigeria’s women national football team, Super Falcons, have dropped two places from 32nd to 34th in the final FIFA women’s world ranking for 2023.
Reports say although the Falcons recorded impressive results in the Paris 2024 Olympic and WAFCON 2024 qualifiers against Ethiopia and Cape Verde respectively, it was not enough to move the Falcons up.
However, in the ranking that was released this Friday, on FIFA website, the Falcons still retained their number one spot in Africa.
Meanwhile, Reigning women’s world champions Spain is the number one ranked team, which is their first-ever feat, while former FIFA women’s World Cup winners USA, is at the number two spot.
