The Super Eagles of Nigeria could face the Portuguese national team in a friendly match later this year as discussions are underway between both federations.
The Nigerian Football Federation, revealed that talks have been held and it was mentioned to the super eagles coach, Peseiro, upon his appointment. It’s now left for both parties to accelerate talks and set up possible meetings.
The game, which is expected to take place on the 17th day of November, 2022 if confirmed, will serve as a friendly match in preparation for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers as well as preparation for Portugal ahead of its group game against West Africa nation “black stars of Ghana, ahead of Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup.”
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro also needs the game against Portugal to help him better understand his team before the next competitive fixture of the team next year.
