South Africa has crashed out from the World Cup tournament after being defeated by Canada, in the first match of the knockout rounds.
The match, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday, ended in a scoreline of 1-0 after Canadian player, Stephen Eustaquio scored at stoppage-time.
This is the first time both countries are making it to the knockout phase, and this is first time in history that Canada is advancing to the last 16
Canada will now face the Netherlands or Morocco in Houston in the last 16 on July 4, as South Africa’s World Cup adventure comes to an end.
